Cranage Parish Council Neighbourhood Plan
The Future of Cranage – Neighbourhood Plan Update
Cranage Parish Council has now submitted the Cranage Neighbourhood Plan to Cheshire East Council for the next stage of the statutory process.
The Parish Council previously carried out a Regulation 14 consultation between 2 May and 16 June 2025, and we are grateful to residents, local organisations and stakeholders who provided feedback. The comments received helped shape the final submission version of the Plan.
The Plan has now been submitted to Cheshire East Council (CEC) under Regulation 15. CEC will check that the required documents have been provided and will then publish the Plan for a further Regulation 16 public consultation before it proceeds to independent examination.
If the Plan successfully passes examination, it will go forward to a local referendum, where residents will have the opportunity to vote on whether it should become part of the statutory development plan for the area.
The Neighbourhood Plan will help guide how Cranage develops over the coming years, including:
- Protecting valued green spaces and rural character
- Supporting safe walking, cycling and bridleway routes
- Safeguarding community facilities and local amenities
- Ensuring new development reflects the character of the parish
